He said the league’s K100 million sponsorship reflects the institution’s commitment to community empowerment and financial inclusion.
Said Jonazi: “The Finca Mpira Uyake Southern Region Football League is more than just football. It is a platform for bringing communities together, creating opportunities for young talent, and connecting people to financial solutions that can improve their livelihoods.
“We are excited and fully prepared for the season kick-off and we invite everyone to come for great football, entertainment and an opportunity to experience what Finca has to offer.”
Mwanza Stars will host FCB Nyasa Bullets Reserves in the launch match.
Initially, the league was set to kick-off on May 19, but it was rescheduled to this Sunday after a clash of fixtures with an FDH Bank Premiership tie between FCB Nyasa Bullets and Red Lions at the same venue.
Southern Region Football Association general secretary Ishmael Sande in an interview said they look forward to the new season.
“We are excited that finally we will be kicking off the league,” he said.
Sande said during the launch, patrons will be treated to live performances by artist Gibo Pearson.
Finca has organised various marketing and promotional activities in Mwanza and surrounding areas.
Members of the public who open a Finca Phindu Savings Account at any Finca branch alsoo stand a chance to win tickets to the opening match.
Customers will also stand a chance to win various Finca-branded merchandise, including replica jerseys, T-shirts and caps.
